Welcome to our Wood Door Series, where we’ll cover a variety of topics, from choosing the right wood material to customizing the design, to help you decide what door is best for you and what to consider once you receive it. Whether it’s interior doors or customized front doors, there are a lot of factors to consider.

Throughout this series, we’re speaking with Brad Loveless, Marketing and Product Development Manager at Simpson Door Company. With 17 years of experience in marketing, operations, and sales at Simpson, he has a tremendous amount of knowledge about wood doors, trends that have come and gone, and how to navigate the many decisions involved to select the right door for your project.

In this first episode, you’ll learn more about Brad, his experience with Simpson, and the different topics we’ll cover in this series.

About Simpson Door Company

Founded in 1912 right here in Washington state, Simpson Door Company manufactures and ships doors all over the United States as well as Asia and Canada. Their primary manufacturing facility is located in Washington, with additional facilities in Thurston County and Alabama.

Each facility produces a different selection of products based on what’s popular in a particular market. Ultimately, Simpson’s primary goal is to get quality products that stand the test of time to local homeowners.

What makes Simpson doors special isn’t just their beauty, but the workmanship that goes into them. Each individual’s role—from designer to inspector—follows the same stringent standards through every step of the process.

A door designer will create as many as 50 designs at one time to ensure the customer has many options to choose from. As each door moves through the manufacturing process, there are many layers to inspection—from ensuring only the highest quality materials are used to fixing irregularities.
